Hey guys Im a writer and just got started but thus far I am helping Curtis with some of the mission dialogs and such I sent him a few suggestions on the current dialogs for Dantes Inferno and will be going over it with a fine tooted comb and adding more suggestions. For now This is all will be adding more soon if Im given more assignments asked for help ect

I do have the suggestions I send I do retain everything on Word  so ask if you need to see it

partial log of what I did before I went to work.

Collaborated with Chris on some ideas for the entrance for the Mr Johnson 1st encounter in Dantes suggested a separate male and female PC encounter.

Added a perception test to the Redmond orc encounter. Includes pass/fail results (the pass gives a decent description of what the orcs are carrying/wearing)

Added some minor details to the perception test success or failure for Icer (like the fact hes an elf)

Added a bit more detail to the speech during the troll guards encounter.

I will work more tonight after work

Added parts 3 and 4 to the mindboard the entire outline is now up on it

added some more SR slang to speech NPC and PC

Okay Chris and I went over parts 1 and 2 of the story in the mindmap. We edited and tweaked some of the dialog and added some missing pieces to the sewers side quest.

We also discussed having a regular writers meeting and hashed out a Day for it.

log addendum

Added a 3rd option for the ending option took Bills advice and gave PCs the option to reverse engineer the medkit to give to the orcs AND turn in to the Johnson

Sorry I wasn't on last night my Net was down. Anyhow I added a social roll to the end of the Ares run that helps tie in with the third ending options. Also did some basic editing of what we already went over spell checking make sure the sentences ect make sense and the like I haven't touched part 3 or 4 yet seeing I don't want to mess with this without Chris around.

Off to work now hopefully can start on part 3 at least tonight when I get home

Added 2 sidequests to Part 3 Ares during the Ten-Uchis safehouse area. These were added so that characters with low social skills have an opportunity for the same rewards plus some extras as the Social Skill roll.

Added in

Onatah Sidequest
Brief overview
Onatah asks you to help her client by running a local corrupt herbal and magical foci merchant out of an area in Redmond.
Reward 500Y discount at shop in future(optional) and a hard to avoid Ares guard will be removed

Ten-Uchi Sidequest

Challenge Ten Uchi to a spar. If the PC wins he and the group will receive enhanced equipment for the run from Ten-Uchi. If the PC loses he/she will lose the opportunity to make a social roll for the extra gear.

Good idea for the side quests.   While I'm not privy to every line of code or art asset, I'm unsure if we'll have time to implement the Onatah sidequest, but like others have probably have said; we'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

I have hand written 2 missions I am going to put them on word but I want to know if I should even bother to put them on the mindmap or just save them in my cloud till after the Dec release.

But Mission concepts

Mish 1 A simple favor?
You get a call from a contact (any random PC contact) asking the PC to meet.
If PC decides to meet contact said contact asks them to deliver a package to a client of theirs.
Pay is 300Y

If PC accepts they are randomly ambushed on the way to the contacts meet spot and must fight out OR risk loging the contact (75% chance) and give the package up to the ambushers.

Mish 2 Smash and grab
A local Johnson you use often for quick work calls you up with an offer.
A local street doc caught wind of a prototype bioware unit being finalized for sale to the larger corps. This doc wants it for himself so he can reverse engineer it and sell it for himself.
If the PC shows up to the meet they are asked to raid a local facility steal a prototype bioware set from a small up and coming design firm.
It is a small run with a few Combat (or stealth) encounters. Fighting or sneaking past guards stealing a couple files and a prototype (insert random body part here) bioware unit

Rewards 200Y 1 free low level augmentation bioware or cyberware from the street doc

these are just the quick views I have complete mission writeups including dialog ready but will hold off adding it until were for sure what is going on.

okay well Ill update wit nothing. I literally don't know what to do right now so I didn't want to start on something until I know whats going on. Chris can you get a hold of me if we have to Ill give you my cell and we can do teleconferences for all I care. Seeing we both are busy and its the holiday season Im willing to do whatever it takes to make it easiest on all of us

did some minor editing to the mind map. Mainly grammar and speech edits nothing major heres the mindmap so far Mission 1 Dialogue

Sorry I have been gone my car, cellphone, and my laptop were stolen. Not much else I can really say but I will be back on ASAP Im still writing sidequests ect for future releases but I cant really work on anything current other than what I have already, I lost all my other writings so I will redo those and have a few more up so when I do come back I will have a dozen or so sidequests

Well as I stated in a post I am going ot start to put together a draft of the Yakuza War Main Story you guys want put out. I am working on a basic outline and story at the moment. For the first draft/brainstorming pieces I put up I will be using names like Generic villain A or Random NPC1 but they will obviously be fleshed out in time. I plan on having the main plot and directions done by Monday and will post them up here. If there is anything in particular you all wish to have placed within the Yakuza War Story feel free to let me know

Have outline written for the emphasis of the Yakuza Story

 Brief Synopsis
Outline 1 Working For Yakuza Gang
Aid the Yakuza in eliminating the competition in this section of the city so it can set up its influence. Working with Ten-Uchi (from Mission 1)
Will have various quests in a chain to either eliminate ,steal, destroy, kidnap, cause general mayhem to scare the locals out.

Outline 2 Working Against
Aid (corp, Gang, Police forces?) In stopping the Yakuza from taking over the area. Working against Uchi (guess who one of the bosses will be)
Various quests on defending areas form being burnt down, VIP escort missions, General kill X amount of Yakuza members in an area, sabotage Yakuza vehicles, weapons ect. General Counter Insurgency type missions

Still debating on the faction to use for the counterpart any ideas?

classic anti-Yak would be triad or Mafia, for underworld facitons, and Knight errant or Lonestar for Legit factions...

should we have a legit option or just make this a full gang warfare scenario. Legit would open up quest lines in the protect are IE protect a VIP, Vehicle ect from dropping below certain health while escorting. As well as property keeping it form a certain level of damage or fire ect from yakuza forces. With the Criminal angle it would be a bit easier on the programming side as both sides could have the same missions just different targets. IE kill X, steal X, kidnap X. From a gamers standpoint different is better but I want other Devs input before I start writing and make things a pain in the ass on someone inadvertently.

the legit options could still include kill X or destroy X - after all, if it was a totaly legit run, they wouldn't hire runners to do it :) police are just another Mega so they're just as dirty.  I think that all of those mission styles could work no matter which side you pick.  it would be a good Idea to write some just generic mission outlines, and then work out what we can change dialog and force wise to make them distinct, while not needing nessesarily totally different directions.
