This is a summary of planned features for the client application of Shadowrun Awakened for version 1.0.

Local Simulation
The representation of the current conditions of the game world around the player
- Player Cache - Any information the server presents to the player will be cached client side until such time it is invalidated
- Streamed Loading - Method of loading and unloading in the background to decrease (or better eliminate) loading screens
Graphics
Visuals in the game provided by the 3D graphics engine and 2D controls
- Alternate Visual Spectrum – Thermographic and low-light vision
- 3 Planes – Showing presence in AR, Astral, and reality each in a distinct style
Character Generation
Menus, alongside some 3D, that facilitates making a player character
- Archetypes – The client will offer some pre-generated characters as options for beginners
- Build Points – A detail, BP-oriented, character editor will allow experts to custom make character or newbies to modify archetypes
GUI Systems
Menus that allow interaction with the player stats and character
- Commlink - Various 2D visuals during gameplay will be channeled through a "commlink" metaphor
- Meta-Data - 2D display of information known to the character and conveyed to the player via GUI
- Conversation – NPC-to-PC socialization
- Buying/Selling - NPC-to-PC commerce
- Trading - PC-to-PC commerce
- Actions & feedback – GUI controls used during gameplay such as: combat queue, health status, current weapon, etc
- Inventory - Including equipment, social inventory, and character statistics system
- Text Chat - Textual PC and NPC chat appearing on-screen
- Main Menu – Controls for starting/quitting the game (including modifying game settings)
