Here are some guidelines to using the wiki:

1. Hit the preview button. To save space in the database, please use the preview button to see how what you've written will look when formatted. Every time you edit a page it inserts another copy in the database in order to preserve the page history, so please avoid needless edits.
2. Mandatory reading to edit the wiki should be the formatting page.
3. If you want an ordered list, begin your lines with a pound (#) and do not put any blank lines between those lines or it will restart the numbering. It's tempting to type "X)", but that's not how the wiki formatting works and it won't allow you to do advanced formatting such as a numbered list within another list.
4. If you want an unordered list, begin your lines with an asterisk (*) so that they format with a bullet point. A dash isn't pretty; don't use one.
5. If you want a new paragraph, you have to press Enter twice to leave a blank line between paragraphs or everything will show up on one line.
6. When protecting a page, it's either for allowing sysops only or there's no reason to protect it at all. No anonymous users can edit the wiki with the settings that are in place, so choosing "(default)" or "Block unregistered users" does nothing. Choose "Sysops only". Don't unlock the move permissions; this keeps it so it protects both editing and moving.
7. If you're having trouble linking to pages that you just created and you move the recently-created pages to fix links from a page you're now creating, that is a kludge. Create the page that will link out to the new page first and click on the red link to jump to the page and automatically begin editing it.
8. Links are case-sensitive, so "Page two" is different than "Page Two". And it doesn't matter whether you type [[Page_two]] or [[Page two]] for your link; both will link to the page. However, [[Page_two]] will look like Page_two and [[Page two]] will look like Page two.
