Matrix

AR will be represented alongside reality. The primary means of acting on AR objects will be a straightforward point-and-click interface, just like physical interactive objects.

VR will be presented as a place outside of reality. Presentation of the interconnection of the matrix (IE the place between hosts) may or may not be included in 1.0. When it is built, sooner or later, it will need a style similar to that presented in books such as The Matrix (3rd ed), Virtual Realities (2nd ed), and System Shutdown (3rd to 4th transition book). Hosts on the matrix may have levels as designer wishes.

"Fast" hacking through AR (brute force hacking, in seconds) will be possible. "Slow" hacking (hacking that takes hours or days) will only be possible through VR (where is only takes 'hours'). While it is listed in 4th edition as possible to slow hack in AR, the base time is in days. That will not be possible given our sleep mechanic.

Technical Implementation

For 1.0, the matrix will mostly be about hacking. For future versions, VR will be expanded to include sandbox areas.
