Vision

Characters in Shadowrun Awakened, using technology, magic, and innate racial abilities, can see in more than just visible light.

Game Rules Description

The different visuals PCs can see in the world and their representation to the player. The types available to a particular character will depend on their equipment, Qualities, and Race.

  • Normal: Vision everyone has.
  • Low light: Vision available to Elves, Orks, some adepts, and the cyber-enhanced. This will allow for a light-adjusted monochromatic view of the world (with significant bloom if used without decreased lighting).
  • Thermographic: Vision available to Dwarves, Trolls, some adepts, and the cyber-enhanced. Allows for vision based on heat, including humanoids and some technology.
  • Astral Perception: Vision available to awakened characters. Allows for sight based on how "alive" or "magical" something is, along with extra meta-data on certain objects.
  • Augmented Reality: Vision enhanced by information from a commlink connected to the matrix available to all characters with commlinks (especially favored by hackers). Allows for completely digital representations as well as extra-data.

Technical Implementation

Certain items in the game, along with being some of the Races grants alternate vision to a player. They will be portrayed using alternate graphical effects for each type.
